Walkaway Lunch

As a rule a morning’s work is comprised of six solid hours of concentrated effort. Ever ambitious in what can get done in that time, Production drives relentlessly forward against the clock. One minute into the day, it seems, they are 5 minutes behind.

But the moment that lunch is called, a hundred people drop everything and scatter in all directions. Within a minute they have vanished. The hushed stage, now frozen in time, awaits their return to be re-animated for six or seven, or even eight more hours in the afternoon.

I came ambling back halfway through lunch one day and conducted an impromptu tour for my little camera. It is 15 minutes long and nothing much happens. Like I said, it is frozen in time.
